Camino Portuguese - Caminho de Santiago

Guarda, bekannt als die höchste Stadt Portugals, ist die größte Stadt der Region Serra da Estrela und nur 8 km von der Quinta das Corujas entfernt. Das historische Zentrum mit der beeindruckenden Kathedrale könnte ein wunderbarer Anfang sein, um den portugiesischen Caminho de Santiago zu erkunden. Auf Ihrem Weg finden Sie traditionelle gekachelte Häuser, römische Straßen, Kirchen, mittelalterliche Hütten und eine atemberaubende Natur. Von Guarda aus wandern Sie durch das obere Tal des Mondego durch die fast menschenleeren Dörfer Faia, Aldeia Viçosa bis nach Viseu.

Während Ihres Aufenthaltes auf der Quinta das Corujas können Sie mehrere Routen bewandern. Sie können sie auf eigene Faust oder mit einem unserer Führer gehen.
Für Pilger ist es auch möglich, nur eine Nacht in einer unseren Holzhütten am Fluss oder in einem Zimmer in einer unserer Unterkünfte zu verbringen.

Guarda, known as the highest city of Portugal, is the largest city of the region of the Serra da Estrela, and only 8 km away from the Quinta das Corujas. The  historical centre with the stunning cathedral could be a wonderfull start to walk the Caminho Portuguese.  You will find  traditional tiled houses, Roman roads, churches, medieval cottages and a stunning nature on your way. From Guarda you walk trough the upper valley of the Mondego through the almost deserted villages of Faia, Aldeia Viçosa all the way to Viseu.  

During your stay at Quinta das Corujas  you can walk several routes. You can walk them on your own or by one of our guides.
For pilgrims  it is also possible to just stay one night at  one of our wooden cabins at the river or in a room in one of our accomodations.
